Annunciazioni dovunque
angeli di ogni tipo,
vestiti di abiti belli
con cinture, e sandali,
ali e capelli
acconciati
per la grande visita.
Un’ultima prova, un
inchino
alla Grande
Luce
poi via attraverso le stelle
fino al gioiello blu appeso
al limite di quel pezzo di cielo,
portando un messaggio capace di iniziare
una rivoluzione come nessun’altra.
La giovane Maria, ignara,
ripete i gesti di ogni giorno
si alza presto,
si veste e si pettina
pulisce la piccola stanza,
un mazzo di fiori freschi
(sempre gigli bianchi).
Apre la finestra, la luce
entra, che
meraviglia,
il libro è illuminato -
Poi un improvviso fruscìo di ali
un’apparizione e una voce
da prendere in considerazione
fiat voluntas
tua
la
mia anima magnifica il Signore.

Annunciations everywhere
Angels of all sorts,
dressed in fine robes
cinctured, sandaled,
wings and hair arranged
for the great visitation.
A final rehearsal, bow
To the Great Light
then off through the stars
to the blue jewel hanging
at the edge of that piece of sky,
Bearing a message to ignite
A revolution like no
other.
The young Maria, unaware,
goes about her dutiful day
rising early,
dressing and combing
cleaning the little room,
a fresh bunch of flowers
(always white
lilies).
She opens the window, the light
streams in wonderfully
the book illuminated –
Then a sudden rustle of wings
An apparition and a voice
To be reckoned with
Fiat voluntas tuas
My
soul doth magnify the Lord.
